You don’t need another tool
You need the ones your friends already bought. That $400 miter saw? Dave used it once for baseboards. It’s been collecting dust since 2019.
- Stop buying
- Your garage doesn't need to look like a hardware store clearance aisle. Most tools spend their lives on a shelf.
- Start sharing
- Your friends have what you need. You have what they need. Your grandpa called it being a good neighbor.
- Actually remember
- “Who borrowed my torque wrench?” Every loan has a name and a return date, so nobody plays tool detective.
No blockchain. No AI. No precious metals.
Just a simple way to share tools with people you trust.
Step 1: Add your toolbag
Snap a photo, add the brand and model. Yes, even that weird socket set from your uncle.

Step 2: Connect with friends
Sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, then find your people. Actual friends, not randos.

Step 3: Loan and borrow
Search everything your friends own, or pick a friend and ask. They approve, you pick it up.

Step 4: Get it back
See what's out, what's due and who has it. Request it back or confirm the return in one tap.

Features that make sense
A toolbag with photos
Every tool you own in one place, with pictures, brands, part numbers and notes.
Search friends' tools
Need a tile saw? Search across your friends' toolbags before you drive to the store.
Know who has what
Loaned out, borrowed or available. Return dates for everything that's out.
Request it back
One tap sends the reminder, so you don't have to be the bad guy.
Tip your friends
Say thanks with a Venmo tip. Pizza and beer are the original currency.
Dark mode
Because you're probably browsing tools at 11 PM instead of doing the dishes.
“I borrowed a tile saw from my neighbor through Toolix. Finished my bathroom. Returned it on time. He looked at me like I’d grown a second head.”
Good questions
Is Toolix free?
Yes. Toolix is free for up to 25 tools. Toolix Pro is an optional subscription for bigger toolbags, billed through the App Store or Google Play.
Why do I sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook?
So there's no password to manage and your friends can find you by name. We use your name, email and profile photo from that account only to run your Toolix account.
Who can see my tools?
Other Toolix users can see your display name and profile photo, and your tools and lending activity are shared so friends can browse and borrow. Keep anything private out of tool names, notes and photos.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete My Account. You can also request deletion on the web without the app. Delete your account or data
Stop buying. Start building.
Your garage will thank you. Your wallet will thank you. Your friend who owns the miter saw will… well, they’ll get over it.
